Joined Adrenaline since 2023. René has been a ski teacher, throughout the winter with focus on adult clients.
Why did you choose Verbier?
I sincerely appreciate the beauty of Verbier and its adjacent stations offering a springboard to ski and embrace its off-piste opportunities.
What do you like about your job as an instructor?
The opportunity to embrace the multicultural background of clients aiming to learn and improve their ski technique, whereas I learn from them. I sincerely enjoy coaching, while sharing the passion for skiing.
What do you do in the summer and where are you?
Living permanently in Val de Bagnes, I focus predominantly on physical conditioning to prepare for the next ski season. In conjuncture, I passionately nurture science with the objective to further my pre-existing medical knowledge.
Have you ever done sport competitively?
Yes! I have been previously competing in speed skating as I grew up in Amsterdam. In conjuncture with my professional life I competed for 20 years in triathlon and MTB internationally. Until 2024, I have participated in masters (FIS) ski racing.
What are your passions?
Skiing, bicycling, photography, medical science, growing bonsai, asian cooking and symphonic metal.
What do you ride?
For teaching I use slalom skis, whereas when free skiing I prefer giant slalom or freeride skis (Dynastar/Look only) I use Lange ski racing boots for all ski activities.
